Steve & Karen Multer (ASCAP, AEA, Dramatists Guild) have licensed their songs for TV and film (HBO, CBS, ABC, MGM) and have won the Billboard World Song Contest (Jazz), Great American Song Contest (Variety), had radio airplay in over 150 jazz and A/C markets around the world, been featured on 3 compilation disc releases by SONY/BMG, and are seven-time recipients of the ASCAPlus Award (2005-2012.) Two full-length original studio albums with their vocal jazz quartet, Tonic, were hailed by the likes of Variety, Jazz Review, AMG, Cy Coleman, and Alan & Marilyn Bergman. Multer & Multer's first original musical, CODE NAME: CYNTHIA, received two public readings in 2012 by Chicago Dramatists/Porchlight Music Theatre and a weeklong workshop with Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University. In 2011 the writers were selected as Dramatist Guild Fellows for the Chicago Writer’s Intensive led by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, and Stephen Schwartz. Their next show is in process and scheduled for first draft completion Summer 2013.
